Already own one? Bring it in

Hot, loud, or slow? I can fix that.

Most machines written off as past it are just choked with dust and running on baked thermal paste. Fixed prices, no diagnosis fee, and anything that turns out to need parts is quoted separately and agreed before I touch it.

  1. Quick Clean & Check

    £29

Is anything actually wrong with it? Find out in a day.

  2. Deep Clean & Tune-Up

    £59

The one that actually makes the machine quieter and faster.

  3. Full Service & Benchmark

    £99

Everything I'd do to a machine before I'd put my name on it.

Also on the bench: New PC Setup & Debloat (£39), Game Tuning & Desktop Ricing (from £79). Drop-off is by appointment in Dollar.

How buying works

Agreed first, paid on collection

Everything is quoted and agreed before any work starts, and you settle up when you collect the machine - bank transfer or cash. Drop-off and collection in Dollar, and I take work from across Clackmannanshire and the Stirling area - Tillicoultry, Alva, Menstrie and Alloa included.

Tell me what you need, from the form or by email.

  2. 02

    Drop off or build

Machines come to the bench in Dollar by appointment; new builds are made to order.

  4. 04

    Pay on collection

Bank transfer or cash, when you pick it up.

The readout

What the extra money actually buys

Three machines, the same 3 games, all at 1440p with no upscaling and no frame generation on any of them - so the only thing that changes between the bars is the hardware. King's Seat costs 3.1× what Glen does, and at Counter-Strike 2 it's only 2.5× faster - if that's what you play, the cheap one is genuinely the right machine. Turn ray tracing on in Cyberpunk 2077 and the gap opens to 5×. That's the pattern worth understanding before you spend: the harder you push a machine, the more the money shows.

Why you can trust these numbers

These are estimates, not measurements. Nobody can promise you an exact frame rate before your machine exists, and any shop that does is guessing at you with a straight face.

Each figure is the average frame rate that this exact combination of processor and graphics card is widely reported to hit, at the resolution and settings written beside it. Where a game is running with upscaling (DLSS or FSR) that's stated too, because leaving it out is how a mediocre number gets dressed up as a good one. Where a game caps its own frame rate, the cap is what you see - not a bigger, meaningless number.

What is measured is your specific machine. Before it leaves the bench it runs 8 hours of processor, graphics and memory stress testing, and you get that machine's own temperatures and results in writing.

The range

Named after the hills above the bench

9 machines, from a £569 office box to a workstation that bills by the hour. Every one is a complete, tested computer with its full parts list published, and every spec can be changed before you order.

Who's building this

One bench, one builder, no call centre

I'm Fraser. I've been building, upgrading and fixing PCs for years - my own first, then friends' and family's, and now yours. I pick every part, route every cable, run every test and answer every email myself, which is slower than a warehouse and considerably better.

It's a new business and you won't find a wall of five-star reviews here yet. You'll find the full parts list, the method behind every number, and a 2-year labour warranty instead.

After you order

Four stages, then it's yours

  1. 01

    Spec

We agree exactly what goes in it, in writing, before you pay anything. If a cheaper part does the same job for you, I'll say so - that conversation is the whole point of buying from a person.

  2. 02

    Build

Assembled by hand at the bench in Dollar. Cables routed properly, fan curves tuned by ear as well as by software, Windows installed clean - no trial antivirus, no preloaded junk to uninstall.

  3. 03

    Test

8 hours of processor, graphics and memory stress testing, then real game benchmarks. You get this machine's own temperatures and results in writing. If something misbehaves, it doesn't leave.

  4. 04

    Hand over

Collect it from Dollar and I'll set it up with you and go through the test results in person before it leaves.

Buying it for someone else? Tell me their favourite game and your budget and I'll pick the machine.
